Take the pulse of the capital

Oslo, Norway

Norway's largest city is rapidly changing, and boasts new neighborhoods with exciting contemporary architecture that change the city's face and spread energy to the city's food, drink, fashion, art and music scenes.

Oslo, also known as the Viking city, the culture city, the city of green hills and spectacular fjords is the capital of Norway.

In a few years, areas such as Bjørvika, Tjuvholmen, Vulkan have grown and given Oslo new attractions and the cultural life in Oslo is flourishing like never before with local talents presenting themselves all year round in countless galleries and club scenes.

The capital is a green city, and in 2019 it has been named European environmental capital. More than half of the city of Oslo is covered by forests and parks, and the fjord extends all the way to the city center.

Across Oslo runs the Akerselva, which divides the city in two. Along the river you can hike on the hiking trails or soak up the sun in the many green areas. On the east side of the river is Grunerløkka - an eldorado of small shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. On the other side is Mathallen, a food paradise with both Norwegian and exotic ingredients and specialties.

Discover Oslo in all its facets.
